Another wild development—father and son arrested! And not just any father and son, but former Abia State Governor Theodore Orji and his son, Chinedum Orji! Cray, right? Father and son, partners in crime! The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) dragged them before the Abia State High Court over alleged misappropriation of ₦47bn! They were arraigned alongside Dr. Philip Nto (a former Commissioner of Finance), Obioma King (a government contractor), and Romas Madu (a former Director of Finance). The 16-count charge against them includes conspiracy to steal and conversion of billions meant for government programs. The allegations? ₦22.5bn vanished under the guise of security votes from 2011 to 2015. ₦13bn disappeared from a loan granted by the now-defunct Diamond Bank. And to top it off, ₦12bn from the Paris Club refund? Gone! Just like that! The EFCC isn't playing, and this case is looking serious!
