“Nobody Discovered Me!” – Fido Sparks Controversy, Promoters Fire Back with Receipts

The music industry is no stranger to drama, and right now, Fido—the rising star behind Awo Lo Wo and Joy Is Coming—is at the center of it. A dispute between him and his former promoters has taken over social media, revealing a deeper struggle behind the scenes.

It all started when Fido took to social media with a bold statement:

"Let nobody deceive you. Nobody discovered me—I discovered myself. If you hear anyone claiming they discovered me, it’s a scam. It was God who discovered me, not man. Don’t let them fool you!"

But his claim didn’t go unchallenged. A certain music executive fired back with receipts—sharing screenshots of past conversations and insisting that Fido was indeed discovered and groomed by a dedicated team.

"Inner circle discovered you and built your brand. I personally convinced Bimbo to come on board. We pushed Awo Lo Wo together in Bariga. Now you dare say we never invested in you? You talk about investors as if you brought them—those investors invested in the team, not just you!"

Then, Fido hit back with his own response—this time exposing the real issue at hand. He accused the former marketer of demanding too much, pushing for an unfair 70-30% split in revenue, and not being transparent about how much his music was actually making. To back up his claims, he shared screenshots of their private conversations.

Well, now we see where the problem is coming from, right? Clearly, Fido was discovered, but his frustration isn't about that—it’s about the revenue split. And honestly, who wouldn’t be upset with just 30%? Just my thoughts.

What do you think?
